Jim Jordan and his accusers, Part Two

A fourth former wrestler has come forward to accuse Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) of willfully ignoring the sexual abuse of wrestlers by the team doctor as coach at Ohio State.

Jordan is the powerful Republican founder of the House Freedom Caucus and dark horse candidate for speaker.

Jordan has very recently been accused of having knowledge of accusations that the Ohio State wrestling team doctor was sexually abusing wrestlers.

Four former OSU wrestlers have now gone public with their stories, detailing alleged sexual molestation by Strauss during medical appointments to NBC News.

Jordan attended a July 4 Tea Party rally Wednesday in Fremont, Ohio where he confronted the accusations and continued to deny that he was aware of the alleged abuse in Columbus. "But at the end of the day, he is absolutely lying if he says he doesn't know what was going on".

Mark Coleman, who reportedly roomed with Jordan on more than one road trip while they were at the school in the 1990s, said there is "no way" Jordan didn't know what was going on.

He added, "We not only stand by him, but believe him to be a man of character and honor, and Congress would be well served to have more Jim Jordans serving on Capitol Hill". "We knew of no abuse". Baier focused in on this and asked Jordan whether he heard things in locker room conversations, even things that may have not seemed like abuse twenty years ago but do today.

Wrestlers who were on the team at the time, however, are calling Jordan a liar.

More immediately, Mr. Jordan has stepped forward as one of President Trump's most visible, aggressive and undaunted defenders in the House, helping lead a Republican counterinvestigation of those F.B.I. and Justice Department officials who are investigating potential connections between the Trump campaign and Russian election interference efforts. A former wrestler was on CNN on Wednesday and said Jordan witnessed inappropriate behavior by Strauss in the team showers. Jordan has repeatedly denied those assertions by ex-wrestlers Mike DiSabato and Dunyasha Yetts. "We all did", Dailey told NBC News.

Before meeting with university officials, he said, he had contacted Mr. Jordan, with whom he said he spoke regularly.

A source in Jordan's office, who described the emails as " weird, seemingly unhinged", told ABC News the lawmaker received the emails on his personal account and they were turned over by his staff to Capitol Police for their expert assessment. "It was very common knowledge in the locker room that if you went to Dr. Strauss for anything, you would have to pull your trousers down".

"I love Jimmy to death", the ex-wrestler said.
