Chelsea closer to leaders Liverpool, Man City than I thought - Maurizio Sarri

Maurizio Sarri played down Chelsea's title chances after their 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Saturday.

Klopp was left positively beaming again with his tactical decision to bring on the 29-year-old but will be hoping the scintillating Salah gets back on track swiftly.

Asked about the lack of goals from his strikers, Sarri said: "I am not really anxious about it and because we have a winger who is able to score frequently. The boys were really happy for him because he's in a good moment".

Hazard's stunning late goal capped Chelsea's come from behind 2-1 victory, making them the first team to stop Liverpool winning this season.

With 89 minutes gone, substitute Sturridge hit a curling effort from 25 yards into the top corner, ensuring Liverpool's unbeaten start to the season carries into October.

"We have to wait, he didn't train with the team so far", Klopp said.

"I was just telling him I'm watching his videos - that's how I'm learning", Sturridge said.

Sturridge's equaliser two minutes from time was a decisive impact from the forward who chalked up his 50th league goal for the Reds, having also scored against his former side in the League Cup in midweek.

Sturridge has repaid the brief cameo appearances he's been gifted by Klopp to prove how much he can contribute to the side as they look for their first Premier League title in nearly three decades. Maybe they [Liverpool] are one step ahead but I am starting to think we can recover in one season.

Salah looked to have levelled 32 minutes in after escaping Marcos Alonso and rounding Kepa Arrizabalaga, but the covering Antonio Rudiger stretched to clear the ball off the line.

"It was tactical, he was not injured", he said.

"It was not Mo's best game of his career for sure", added Klopp. No problem with that. He wants to score in these situations.

While the away side controlled the latter stages, Georginio Wijnaldum almost gifted Chelsea the win with a horror back pass to Alisson, but the goalkeeper just managed to beat the oncoming Alvaro Morata to the ball.
