China denies spying on Trump's iPhone, says he should switch to Huawei

Chinese and Russian spies are listening in on President Donald Trump's phone calls according to a New York Times report

Beijing has dismissed a United States newspaper report alleging Chinese intelligence eavesdropped on Donald Trump's calls and suggested the USA president should switch to a Chinese phone.

He'd said as much the night before at a rally in Wisconsin, but his early-morning tweet seems to be inspired by a New York Times report about the president's careless cell phone use, which has allowed China and Russian Federation to listen in on his calls.

Comments from China and Russian Federation were dismissive.

The article Chunying is responding to is a recent New York Times story.

If the U.S.is still concerned about security, Trump could "abandon all modern communication devices and cut off contact with the outside completely", she said.

The Times cited current and former U.S. officials as saying China has a sophisticated approach toward the intercepted presidential phone calls and is seeking to use them to determine what Mr Trump thinks, whom he listens to and how best to sway him.

Blackstone Group chief executive Stephen Schwarzman and Las Vegas casino magnate Steve Wynn are among "ideal targets" identified by China who can eventually convey the Asian nation's views to Trump, the New York Times said.

Frustrated current and former USA officials warned that President Donald Trump's personal Apple iPhone is being monitored by Chinese spies, according to The New York Times.

The comment is perhaps the most masterful troll of the New Cold War era, especially considering the many warnings from the US Congress that Huawei devices aren't secure and that the company is manipulated by the Chinese government.

Earlier this week a report broke that Chinese spies were eavesdropping on Donald Trump's phone calls from his personal, unsecured iPhone, which obviously carries a ton of political implications that your local Android site probably isn't qualified to evaluate.

As for President Trump, he reacted just as everyone expected by going to Twitter and calling the NYT report "soooo wrong".

According to The New York Times, aides and people who know Donald Trump said that it was only late a year ago that he finally began to regularly use his government-issued cellphone instead of his personal cellphone.

Trump tweet with "Twitter for iPhone" tag.

He can feel free to rebut the idea that anyone else is writing his tweets for him, but then he'd have to admit that he sent this tweet personally from an iPhone, fairly well in line with the Times reporting he claims is so fake, so ...

"When Trump took office, I warned Republicans about the dangers of his cellphone usage", he tweeted.

The president often criticizes the N.Y. Times for its coverage of his administration and has called out numerous stories as "fake news".

Trump denied the claim.
