Brexit: Who gets what in divorce deal

May defends draft Brexit deal

Former Labour Business minister and ex-shadow Europe minister Pat McFadden said: "This report shows that the reality of this deal will leave Britain tens of billions of pounds poorer than if we stuck with the deal we've got - inside the EU".

Prime Minister Theresa May has confirmed the "meaningful vote" on Brexit will be held on December 11.

Trump indicated he wanted the PM to take another look at the deal.

If MPs vote down the deal or demand amendments, this could dramatically shape whether the United Kingdom is able to forge these bilateral deals with the likes of US, China, and Japan.

The disagreements have left the two sides staring into the abyss, as British opponents to the deal say they want to come up with something better.

British Prime Minister Theresa May, waiting in the wings as the other leaders met, joined them once they had given the deal the seal of approval to discuss the next steps on the road to Brexit.

Prime Minister, speaking in Brussels, Belgium, after the decision, urged Leave and Remain backers to support the agreement because it sets Britain "on course for a prosperous future".

And a senior Labour lawmaker Tony Lloyd said there was a "coalition of the willing" in the Parliament ready to reject May's deal and support a softer Brexit.

Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte added: "This is the deal on the table".

"It delivers an economic partnership with the European Union closer than any other country enjoys, is good for business and is in our national interest".

"That wouldn't be a good thing, I don't think they meant that". One by one, heads of state and government, from Angela Merkel to Emmanuel Macron, lined up to say it was this deal or no deal at all.

If the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) goes ahead with its threat, Mrs May would be short of a working majority in the 650-seat Parliament: 316 active lawmakers elected as Conservatives would face 313 on the opposition benches plus the 10 DUP lawmakers.

Brexiteers want negotiators to return to Brussels to amend the deal, but European leaders have said that they have little room to improve it and that there is nothing more to talk about.

"I believe that the British government will succeed in securing the backing of the British Parliament", he added, declining to comment on what might happen if Mrs May fails.

May will put the deal to Parliament for a decisive vote on December 11, but after her plan was savaged from all sides, signs are she's on course to lose. The EU general court said that the opening of the Brexit negotiations had no direct impact on their situation.

British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt said Sunday that the United Kingdom faced "very big risks" if the deal was rejected, according to the Reuters news agency.

Pro-Brexit Conservative lawmaker Iain Duncan Smith said Sunday that May should demand new conditions from the EU.

The agreement calls for Britain to stay in the bloc's customs union and largely in the EU single market, without the power to influence the rules, regulations and laws it will be obliged to obey for a 21-month-long transition period following formal withdrawal on March 29.
