United Kingdom strips 2 more IS brides' citizenship

'Strong reports' IS teen bride's baby has died

But Javid's decision to revoke her citizenship, deeming her a security risk, drew mixed reactions.

Two more women - Reema and Zara Iqbal, both sisters - recently have had their British citizenships revoked because they wanted to fled the United Kingdom to end up as jihadi brides, Lad Bible reported.

Ms Begum, who fled London to join the terror group aged 15, had earlier begged to return to the United Kingdom with her boy, but Mr Javid revoked her passport amid fierce public debate. She had left the United Kingdom when she was a teenager but pleaded to be allowed back so that her unborn baby could be taken care of.

Shadow home secretary Dianne Abbott blamed Javid's decision to remove Begum's citizenship for the child's death, accusing him of breaking global law.

The challenge faces other European countries as the final IS stronghold in Syria is on the brink of falling, giving its fighters and their often youthful spouses no place left to hide.

Begum, now staying at a refugee camp in Syria, has voiced a desire to come back to the United Kingdom, but the Home Office has been unwilling to authorise her return.

The news comes hot on the heels of the latest development in the case of 19-year-old Shamima Begum from London, whose story put Home Secretary Sajid Javid on the hot seat following media reports about the death of her baby son.

Her son, Jarrah, died of pneumonia on March 7, according to a medical certificate, the BBC reported.

Javid's decision to strip the teenager of her British citizenship triggered a ferocious debate over whether she should be allowed to return and raised questions about the legality of his decision.

Shadow Home Secretary Dianne Abbott said the death of baby Jarrah was a "tragedy that might have been avoided".

Ms Abbott called the baby's death a "stain on the conscience of this Government".

Mr Hunt said journalists were less likely to be targeted than British officials.

"We further understand that indeed she and her child had been threatened by others at the Al-Hol camp".

A government spokesman for the United Kingdom said any child's death is "tragic and deeply distressing for the family".

But he added that Britons had been warned since 2011 not to travel to Syria because of the conflict there.

Ms Begum's sister Renu said she had sent a letter to Mr Javid, adding that the baby was "the one true innocent and should not lose the privilege of being raised in the safety of this country".

It has been claimed that Ms Begum has received death threats from other jihadi brides as she is thought to have disgraced their cause and ideals.
