Pakistan warns India against any misadventure

"We have reliable intelligence that another act of aggression is highly likely between April 16 and 20 by India against Pakistan", he said.

"BJP's attempt to win the elections through whipping up war hysteria and false claim of downing a Pak F-16 has backfired with U.S. defence officials also confirming that no F-16 was missing from Pakistan's fleet".

Pakistan has "reliable intelligence" that India will attack again this month, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Sunday, as tension over a February standoff between the two countries had appeared to ease.

Speaking to reports in Islamabad, Qureshi said the credible information received by Islamabad shows that India is mulling to carry out the attack between 16th and 20th of April.

Pakistan has been advised to use the established diplomatic channels to "share actionable and credible intelligence" it has about terror attacks, he added.

"I am saying it with responsibility and I have a responsible position, I know each word I say would make headlines in the worldwide press", he said, stressing the reliability of his claim.

He reiterated the measures taken by Pakistan to defuse the tensions with India arising in the aftermath of the Pulwama suicide bombing on February 14, in which more than 40 Indian paramilitary soldiers were killed.

"An incident similar to Pulwama could recur in the occupied Kashmir valley", he had said, adding the goal of this sinister plan was to build diplomatic pressure on Pakistan and justify Indian military action.

India said it, too, had shot down a Pakistani aircraft and the air force displayed pieces of a missile that it said had been fired by a Pakistani F-16 before it went down.

He said that Pakistan has already briefed the United Nations Security Council P5 member countries over the issue and stated Pakistan's apprehensions.

Qureshi also criticised the global community for remaining silent over Indian aggression against Pakistan on February 26.

Hours later, the spokesperson for Pakistan's foreign ministry, Mohammad Faisal, posted on Twitter, "Indian DHC was summoned for demarche in line with FM's briefing of today and warned against any misadventure". He said that global powers did not reprimand India despite blatant violation of worldwide laws on the part of India due to geopolitics.

"We released Indian captured pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan as a gesture of peace", he said, adding that government has also released 360 Indian fishermen for better ties.

"India has been strongly warned by Pakistan in case of any misadventure", the FO spokesperson said.
